Putsborough and Clifton Court

Putsborough itself is a very small hamlet, slightly inland from the beach, with a ford and a delightful pond.  Then there is the blue flag beach, clean sands and clean sea – it can be seen on the Putsborough Webcam.  It is a well known surfing beach but there are many other watersports that can be enjoyed – kyacking, windsurfing, kiteboarding and wakeboarding.  Above all, it is a delightful beach for families, with firm sand and rock pools.  The sea is shallow.

Apart from the beach, the small hamlet and a few random houses facing the sea, all there is at Putsborough is Clifton Court.

It is unique, built into the cliff between beach and fields, in a stunning situation overlooking the Atlantic, with nothing between you and America!  You can just see Lundy in the distance.  It is also right on the South West Coast Path, which runs past the main entrance.

The two small private pools are excellently kept, being praised as one of the cleanest in the south west.   They are well loved by families and are open from early morning to late evening all year.

There is an outside shower and bike racks.
